Habitech International is a collaborative of the Lock-Build Group.
The Habitech Building System was developed at Habitech an R&D center dedicated to developing sustainable construction technologies, building housing and equipment for the low cost construction sector. Habitech International installs building material production facilities worldwide to supply construction sustainable projects such as housing, institutional and commercial buildings. The production facilities are light industries where quality controlled building system are fabricated to exact dimensions using only locally available raw materials and labour creating sustainable employment generating income and sustainable housing for local population. The production facilities are set up on or near the housing project site reducing transportation costs and can be configured to address the demand of specific sustainable projects making sure building materials are available in time for the construction to be on schedule. The components of the Habitech international Building System are prefabricated modular interlocking concrete based elements that can easily be put in place without the need for heavy equipment. Because the components are self-aligning they can be put in place by low income unskilled workers. Construction with the Habitech international Building System is faster, easier, stronger, durable and has been proven to reduce construction costs by as much as 30 to 50% when compared to conventional housing construction building system cost.
